According to an Associated Press report on Tuesday, Nathalie Blanchard, an IBM employee diagnosed with major depression and was receiving monthly sick-leave benefits, was denied the payment by the insurance provider.

When Blanchard called the insurance provider, Manulife, to find out the reason for stopping the payment, she was told the Facebook photos showed she was able to work.

“If you have insurance, be careful. This is a major battle and it's not going to be easy," the report quoted Blanchard, 29, as saying.

According to her, the insurance agent described several pictures Blanchard posted on Facebook, were evidence that she was no longer depressed.

Now, she has approached the court and the case will be heard on December 8.

So be careful of online socializing while you are on sick leave!
