Piau Phang Foo to replace Balu at HP

BANGALORE, INDIA: Piau Phang Foo, who is presently the managing director of HP China, is most likely to replace Balu Doraisamy, who is retiring from Hewlett-Packard on June 30, 2010.

Balu, managing director of Asia Pacific & Japan and senior vice president of Technology Solutions Group — APJ has been with HP for 25 years now. He had been helpful in getting great deal for the company like the Britannia contract.

His successor, Foo Piau Phang, has an interesting career map. He was the president of Dell's operations in China from 2001 to 2005. He joined HP in 2007, where he was throned as managing director for China, Hewlett-Packard Co, replacing Sun Cheng-Yaw. And now he will be enthroned to bigger opportunity as MD APAC and Japan.
