Phishing site targets China earthquake donors

BANGALORE, INDIA: Websense Security Labs has discovered phishing attacks targeting donors to victims of the recent earthquake in China.

A phishing site, hosted in China, poses as a representative of the Red Cross and provides multiple bank account numbers for donors to wire their donations to.

The site was down at the time of the alert. At least 34,000 people died in the earthquake that struck south-western China last week. However, the exact death toll due to the calamity is expected to cross 50,000.
