Peter Gartenberg appointed as MD of SAP India

BANGALORE: SAP has announced the appointment of Peter Gartenberg as MD, SAP India.

He takes over duties from Steve Watts, Interim President, SAP India. Prior to this, Gartenberg was serving as COO, SAP India. Alok Goyal will now assume the role of the COO. Gartenberg will be responsible for all market-facing activities across the field organization, overseeing customer operations as well as general management like sales, consulting, partner ecosystem expansion and marketing.

Extending SAP's commitment to the Indian market, SAP India will be aligned with the company's largest regional unit Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) under the leadership of Jose Duarte, President, SAP EMEA + India.

With this combination, SAP expects to swiftly strengthen its customer focus, and bring innovation for long-term sustainable growth to its customers in every industry, market and customer engagement.

Along with Gartenberg, Goyal will now focus on operational excellence and resource optimization, in order to ensure that customers derive maximum value from SAP offerings. Goyal previously served as VP, Strategic Accounts, SAP India and has over 15 years of experience in the industry. For the past six years, he has been leading multiple software business operations within SAP. He has also been recognized for leading the engineering benchmarking programs that drive customer satisfaction. “SAP has a deep commitment to India.
