The company, soon to "re-brand" itself, has about 1000 employees in Bangalore roofed under two towers situated in 15 acres of land in the outskirts of the city. With capacity to accommodate three to four more towers of similar capacity, Perot plans to prepare the blue print of the company’s growth in January, when the top senior management are coming visiting to India. "I can’t give you a definite number until January, when we meet to strategize and fix targets for Indian operations," informed Cohen.

The Texas based company employs roughly 11,000 people worldwide and added another 2,300 with the Indian acquisition. Apart from Bangalore, a 700-seat center in Noida with capacity to expand in its 20 acres land would be another target of growth for the company’s infrastructure. The rest of the Indian workforce of the company is engaged in onsite work at client locations spread across the world.

Apart from offering application management until now, the erstwhile HCL-Perot System, is viewing Infrastructure Management as another primary area of focus for its Indian operations. "We foresee the business of offshore infrastructure management to be growing at a fast pace and our Indian operations to play a critical role in offering the services," added Cohen.

The $1.3 billion in revenue software services major, project verticals as its other springboard vehicle for growth. With revenues touching $78.7 million posted in the first nine months of 2003, the Indian operations had posted a 25 per cent growth last year as against the previous year in revenue. "We expect it to grow faster than the present growth rate, now that it has become a almost fully owned subsidiary of Perot," said Cohen. Senior management and employees hold about 10 per cent of the HCL-Perot Systems’ (HPS) stake.
