Peraso gets $10mn funding for mm-wave ICs

TORONTO, CANADA: Canadian developer of multi-gigabit millimeter-wave transceivers, Peraso Technologies Inc, has managed new funding to the tune of around US$9.5 million under Series A funding.

The fables semiconductor company has said that the wide ranging opportunities offered by the market afforded by mm-wave technology as well as the world class intellectual property, were recognized as a compelling investment opportunity, thus finalizing the financing.

The investment group that has pumped in the funds includes majors of the likes of Celtic House Venture Partners, iNovia Capital and VentureLink Funds. According to Persao CEO Ron Glibbery, the "relevant domain experience of our investors was an important factor in our ability to raise the financing."

Peraso is expected to utilize the money towards development of millimeter-wave ICs. The company CEO added that Peraso is currently developing 60-GHz transceivers for use in local area networks and high-definition video transmission.
