BANGALORE, INDIA: After levelling charges against Home Minister P. Chidambaram for his alleged role in the telecom scam, Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy has trained his guns on Karti Chidambaram, son of the minister.
On Thursday, he sent a three-page letter to the Prime Minister alleging corruption by Karti as well as demanding Chidambaram's resignation from the post. He added that the CBI should include him and Karti in its investigation on the sale of telecom group Aircel to Malaysia-based Maxis.
According to Swamy, Karti benefited from Mr Chidambaram's position as Finance Minister to earn huge profits during the sale of Aircel, which the former sanctioned in 2006, said an NDTV report.
Karti Chidambaram refused to comment on Mr Swamy's allegations and Swamy did not produce any documentary evidence to substantiate his claims, added the report.
