According to the release, the results prove that most organizations today understand the value software test automation can provide to an enterprise. The benefits include reuse, better labor utilization and cost savings.

When asked what percentage of their organization’s application testing was automated, 65 percent of the participants indicated that test automation in their organizations was currently less than 50 percent while the remaining participants indicated above 50 percent and below 75 percent automation.

To another question posed during the webinar on whether they would consider using application test automation within the next 3 quarters, if they have not considered yet, 88 percent of the participants answered in the affirmative.

The survey results indicate that even though most of the enterprises have not yet automated their application testing, they are in the process of doing so. For many enterprises 2011 seems the right time to establish an automation strategy for testing and they are making sure such an initiative is part of their plans for 2011.
