PBS Professional Version 7.0

Features: This version of the software supports Job Arrays, a mechanism for grouping related work, allowing the user to submit, query, modify and display a set of jobs as a single unit. According to the company, this new feature is particularly useful for users who submit and manage very large numbers of related jobs especially in the compute intense fields of Oil & Gas, EDA (Electronic Design Automation), Animation, Life Sciences/Bio-informatics and Financial Engineering.






According to the press release, since its launch in India in late 2003, a number of companies like ONGC, Tata Motors, M&M, Eicher and University of Pune have successfully adopted PBS Professional for managing their compute intense environments.





PBS Professional Version 7.0 provides a higher level of integration with select MPI libraries, which result in improved resilience under a variety of system failure modes. PBS Professional is a grid-computing tool, which helps Altair's customers optimize the utilization of enterprise computing environments by intelligently aggregating and scheduling computational resources.





According to the company, it is extensively used in the compute intense environments encountered within Oil/Gas, EDA, Animation/media, Life Sciences, Scientific Computing & Research, Financial Engineering, Manufacturing and Education markets.
