FinTech major Paytm will hire at least 1,000 people across tech and non-tech roles over the next few months for its Delhi NCR and Mumbai offices.

Paytm will hire 1,000 people in tech and non-tech roles They will work across the for expansion plans of Paytm into segments like financial and wealth management services across India. The new roles will include engineers, data scientists, financial analysts, among others in Delhi and Mumbai.

A statement from the company said, "The company has ramped up recruitment. It is heading for a rapid expansion of its financial and wealth management services. We need 1,000 additional manpower in tech and non-tech. The new hires would play a key role in the company’s expansion plans and launching new and innovative financial services and technology to fuel growth."

During the pandemic, the FinTech Unicorn had not laid off employees or did any pay-cuts. Further, from April 2019, the company has hired/promoted over 140 people in major leadership roles. (VP and above). Even now, it will hire over 50 people in senior-level executive roles in the position of vice president and above to bolster its top guard.

The company has been expanding its operations in lending, insurance, wealth management and offline payments business. This requires it to hire more people in tech and non-tech roles, it added.

Paytm has launched several new products and services. These include Paytm Postpaid, Scan to Order, contactless ticketing service, COVID-19 insurance, Recharge Saathi programme, credit shell for flight tickets, and free cancellation of bus tickets, among others. It claims to have grown by 35%. This combines offline and online transactions. Also, its Gross Transaction Value (GTV) has grown by 50% over the last few months.

The coronavirus outbreak has not only brought about a global health threat but is also crippling the economy. Thus, Paytm's hiring is a fresh and hopeful opportunity for 1000 Indians.
