Patton-India launches operations in Chennai

CHENNAI, INDIA: Lured by the robust and sustained expansion in India's telecom and networking sectors, Patton Electronics Co., manufacturer of voice and data communications equipment for carrier, enterprise and industrial networks world wide, has opened its Indian headquarters, Patton-India, in Chennai.

Launched during the company's 25th year of operation, Patton-India is a tie up between Patton electronics Company (USA), Microsense Private Limited (India) with investment backed by investment from Patton-Inalp Holdings (Switzerland).

Burton A. Patton, executive vice president of Patton Electronics and acting president for Patton-India, said, "We could not resist expanding in India. The telecom market is getting bigger here, the local talent is too strong, and there is an emerging manufacturing sector which could rival Shenzhen."

Patton-India will leverage local technical talent and deep relations with industry peers to deliver seamlessly-integrated, world-class solutions for carriers, service providers and enterprises throughout India and the world. Patton's prior investment in India includes outsourced software development with new local hardware development and manufacturing in India.

As a solutions provider and member of the Triple Play Alliance, Patton-India will offer system design, integration and support services. In addition to distributing the entire catalog of over 1,000 products from Patton Electronics, including network access, connectivity Voice-over-IP (VoIP), Patton-India also plans to extend its portfolio of best-in-class third-party products.

"The local market in India expects telecom equipment providers to deliver best-in-class technology," said S. Kailasanathan, chairman of the Board for Patton-India. "Patton-India is an 'integrators's integrator'. We deliver end-to-end solutions with proven interoperability, manageability and scalability."
