Patni CFO joins Sutherland Global

CHENNAI: Sutherland Global Services, a global BPO

company headquartered in New York with operations in the US, Canada, India and

the Philippines has announced the appointment of Deepak Sogani as its chief

financial officer (CFO).






Sogani joins Sutherland from Patni Computer Systems Ltd, where he was the Global
CFO for nearly a decade.






At Patni, he played a pivotal role in the organization's growth from $30m to a
$450 million public company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Along with

managing both the Indian and US listings of Patni, he was actively involved with

the largest private equity investment in the outsourcing sector with General

Atlantic Partners investing $100 million into Patni in 2004.






Commenting on the appointment, Dilip R. Vellodi, chairman and CEO, Sutherland
Global Services said, “Deepak has a proven track record in the outsourcing

industry. With his depth of knowledge in the financial services space and

expertise in managing global financial operations, business planning, and

enterprise-wide risk management, we are confident that he will be a strong

contributor to Sutherland's operations and global expansion.”






Sogani began his career as an investment banker at SBI Capital Markets and
worked in areas including money markets, structured finance and cross-border

finance.






He was selected by Business Today magazine in 2006 as one of the Top 25
executives under the age of 40.






Sogani has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT, Delhi and
an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. He is also a Chartered inancial Analyst.






Meanwhile, Patni said in a statement that Sogani will continue his present
responsibilities for the next four months.
