Patni BPO gets excellence awards

BANGALORE, INDIA: IT and BPO services provider Patni Computer Systems today announced that it has received awards in three categories at ‘Stars of the Industry - BPO Excellence Awards’. The awards are in categories namely, ‘BPO Organization of the Year,’ ‘Operational Excellence and Quality,’ and ‘Social Change Agent.’

The BPO excellence awards are given out each year in India by the business group ‘Stars of the Industry,’ recognizing outstanding performance and contribution of BPO players to the industry, said a press release.

Patni said it was chosen from more than 84 corporate entries through a stringent selection process. The applications were assessed based on a set of parameters including performance, branding, vision, leadership, market perception and use of innovative practices.

“We are pleased to be recognized for our commitment towards making Patni a pace-setter in the BPO industry,” said Sanjiv Kapur, SVP and global head of Patni BPO. “This award bears testimony to Patni’s innovation-led growth, business excellence, commitment to environment and society and our sustained efforts to deliver to our customers the best outsourcing experience and value.”

Jonathan Peters, founder, Stars of the Industry Group, said Patni BPO has established itself as an industry benchmark across aspects of customer centricity, business and operational excellence and leading the green infrastructure trend.

“In the challenging times, companies that emerged as leaders and contributed value and growth to the industry – both strategically and operationally are the Agents of Change. We are happy to recognize Patni’s resolute efforts in this direction. It is a great recognition considering the strong competition,” he added.

Patni said, for the fiscal year 2008, its BPO practice reported revenue growth above the industry average, and scaled up operations in insurance, KPO, asset administration, benefits administration, finance and accounting, life sciences, and integrated helpdesk.

The company services a diverse client base across the U.S., Europe and APAC using a flexible global delivery model which includes the Patni Knowledge Center, a 3,500-seat LEED Platinum rated facility in Noida, India. Patni has recently added a new onshore BPO delivery centre in El Paso, Texas to service North American customers.

Genworth Strategic Supplier Award

Meanwhile, Patni also said it has won Genworth Financial 2009 Strategic Supplier of the Year Award. The Strategic Supplier Partnership Initiative (SSPI) Award is given annually to recognize key suppliers critical to Genworth who show a commitment to embodying the Genworth values as well as demonstrating innovation, continuous improvement and cost performance, Patni said in a statement.

“We are honored by this recognition from Genworth Financial which is a testament to Patni’s customer-centric culture,” said Ganesh Iyer, global head, Insurance, Patni Computer Systems Inc. “It has been our privilege to partner with Genworth Financial for over 14 years, working with them to successfully expand in their target markets and will continue to provide the same demonstrated dedication and commitment.”
