Pathanamthitta association gets new team for 2009-11

CHENNAI, INDIA: Elections for Pathanamthitta district of All Kerala IT Dealers Association (AKITDA) was held last month and a new team has taken over for 2009-11. James Joseph, CEO, Computer Plus has been elected as the new President of the Pathanamthitta region of AKITDA.

The other office bearers of the association include Shibu T Varghese, CEO, Digilink as Secretary and Reno P John, CEO, Micrologic Communications as Treasurer.

Annop Chandran and Biju Mathew have been elected as the representative for the state committee of AKITDA from the district.

Pathanamthitta district has major cities like Adoor, Pathanamthitta, Chengannur, Konni, Pandhalam, Mallapalli and Thiruvalla.

The district chapter has also elected Unit Coordinators for major towns covering almost all the other towns in the district. While Sonu has been elected as the Unit Coordinator for Pandhalam and Adoor; Suresh has been elected for the Pathanamthitta; and Suresh Babu and Tony has been elected as Unit Coordinators for Thiruvalla region.

Shibu T Varghese, Secretary—Pathanamthitta, AKITDA informed that the association in the region has nearly 56 registered dealers from all the major towns in the district. “The association has been there since 2004, from the inception of AKITDA in Kerala and has been very active. Our members in the Pathanamthitta district gather in their respective towns every week and carry out meetings. We have planned to conduct a district meet once in every two months in the near future,” said Varghese.

The association has also planned to conduct an exhibition during the Onam season. Informing that the district plays an important role in Kerala IT market, Joseph said that the dealers in the association have registered TIN numbers and the market size is nearly 500 PCs per month. “We will work towards culling these unhealthy practices and create a good environment for the channel partners, as the dealers in the association are very co-operative,” Joseph claimed.
