NEW DELHI: Software giant Microsoft has recently posted a fix for a critical vulnerability in Windows XP SP2, which has been in news since last year for showing the most-dared 'blue screen of death,' which read "Stop 0x05 (INVALID_PROCESS_ATTACH_ATTEMPT)."

This problem has been encountered in PCs running Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 and in some cases has surfaced on installing third-party anti-virus or firewall software. According to a Microsoft's advisory, the problem is due to a coding in the Http.sys file that causes stack corruption.

Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates' system also stopped responding while he was demonstrating the Windows Media Center at January's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas due to this vulnerability.
