Paranjpe to head Bloom Energy International

BANGALORE, INDIA: Within months after leaving Wipro Technolgies, Girish Paranjpe, former Jt-CEO at the IT bellwether, has announced to join Bloom Energy. He will head Bloom Energy International as managing director and will report to KR Sridhar, principal co-founder and chief executive officer of Bloom Energy.

As part of his role, Paranjpe will be responsible for developing the global market for Bloom Energy’s presence beyond the US, said the company. He will also focus on creating new solutions around the Bloom Energy Server, and the flagship Bloom Electrons offering.

According to Girish Paranjpe, in past four months, he met a lot of people with lot of proposals from joining Private Equity to Consulting, but this was the most inspiring proposition.

He said, “Bloom has been there for around 10 years and is very much at a maturity stage. At Bloom, I will be responsible for setting up their international business from scratch. I feel very young and energetic again. Five-ten years down the line, clean and green energy will be the priority matter.”

While his colleague, Suresh Vaswani, joined Dell to lead Dell Services Applications and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) global organization as executive vice president and assume charge as chairman of Dell India, Girish chose to work for a smaller firm in comparison to Wipro.

Bloom Energy has about a handful of clients including big names like Adobe, Google, Ebay, Fedex, Walmart etc, and Girish will be responsible for taking the company beyond US market to global market, setting up its offices, new team and looking after everything from sales, distrubution and marketing to business development.

Announcing his appointment, KR Sridhar said, “We are extremely happy to have Girish on board. Bloom Energy today is at an inflection point, having developed and proven the technology in California, it is now time to expand our markets. Girish will help us start the journey of taking the promise of Bloom’s technology to the global marketplace.”

Commenting on his new role, Girish Paranjpe said the opportunity with Bloom is quite exciting for multiple reasons.
