Palm introduces new products in India

NEW DELHI: Palm Inc. has introduced three new handhelds to its product lineup

in India with the launch of the Palm m125, Palm m130 and Palm m515. The new

products, with colour offering in the m130 and m515, all feature Palm's

dual-expansion technology that allows people to carry and share

office-productivity and education software, eBooks, photos, short videos,

extensive reference materials and extra memory. Add-on modules, such as

collapsible keyboards, digital cameras and modems could also be attached.

The Palm m125 will be priced at Rs 12,535, the Palm m130 at Rs 17,985 and the

Palm m515 at Rs 24,525.

Palm m125 sports a two-tone Sonic Silver and Dark Black faceplate and a flip

cover that has a soft, flexible feel and follows the contour of the faceplate.

It comes loaded with the Palm OS 4.0 software and Palm's Personal Information

Management (PIM) applications. The handheld offers the Dragonball VZ 33 MHz

processor, operates on two AAA batteries and includes 8MB of RAM.

The Palm m130 handheld is targeted at young professionals, first-time buyers,

students and users who want to upgrade from the Palm m100 and m105 handhelds. It

has a rechargeable battery and Palm's dual-expansion technology and 8MB of

memory give users the ability to add on to the Palm m130 handheld as their need

for more powerful handheld applications grows. A removable flip-cover protects

the colour screen, and colour faceplates easily snap on and off to add style and

pizzazz.

Palm m515 handheld provides tools that mobile professionals need in a

sophisticated, elegant handheld. Brighter and easier to read than ever, the m515

handheld's new colour screen offers adjustable backlighting for maximum viewing

control and 16MB of memory means more room for professional and personal data.

Palm's dual-expansion technology enables users to back up the handheld

on-the-go; add new software, business applications, or memory; and attach

peripherals, such as a keyboard, a GPS receiver, or a wireless modem.

The Palm m515 handheld's powerful organiser software and support for familiar

office software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, make it the smart

professional choice.

Based on the Palm OS platform, Palm m125, m130 and m515 handheld users have

access to more than 13,000 commercially available Palm OS software. In addition,

all new handhelds ship with a bonus CD-ROM with software applications that can

be installed for added capabilities. If bought separately, these bundled

products would cost more than Rs 4,868.50.

Users can extend the capabilities of the Palm m125, m130 and m515 handhelds

via the Palm Expansion Card Slot.
