Paladion to set-up app security testing CoE

BANGALORE, INDIA: Paladion, a managed security service provider, today announced that it is setting up an application security testing Center of Excellence (CoE) built around HP application security center software.

The application security testing CoE in India, would enable Paladion’s customers to reduce the risk of application security breaches by integrating the discovery and resolution of critical vulnerabilities into existing application design processes.

The CoE consists of dedicated infrastructure with experienced application security professionals who would develop Proof of Concepts (POC), methodologies and Best Practices based on HP application security center.

“Paladion, through the CoE, will help customers to identify and fix security vulnerabilities right from the application design process,” said Rajat Mohanty, founder and CEO, of Paladion.

“HP Application Security Center provides the right platform for helping protect intellectual property and increase productivity at a lower cost to the business. The alliance with HP and our new Application Security Testing CoE will only further strengthen our capabilities."

Over the last few years, information security breaches, data compromises and regulations have evolved significantly.

Web application security today has become an urgent need as organizations increasingly adopt the Internet for essential daily business operations.

The Web Application Security Consortium (WASC) in a recent survey revealed that over 85 per cent of  31,373 websites that were scanned showed  vulnerability that could give hackers the ability to read, modify and transmit sensitive data.

“CIOs are increasingly focusing on application security to prevent data breaches where costs can run into millions of dollars, and can severely damage a company's brand reputation,” said Kamal Dutta, director, Software and Solutions, HP India.

He further added that the application security testing Center of Excellence, based on HP’s application security center software, would enable Paladion to help businesses find potential security issues early in the development process. This will enable them to prevent problems before web applications are deployed.
