Says PagSeguro Director, Ricardo Dortas: "With the chip and PIN version of PagSeguro, self-employed professionals, contractors, store owners, and small retailers now are able to increase their earnings by accepting credit and debit cards anywhere, anytime, just by using their mobile phones or tablets"

The PagSeguro credit and debit card chip and PIN reader is secure and easy to use, without any monthly fees or upfront payments. It is especially suited to the Brazilian market, where most credit and debit cards feature EMV chips.

The PagSeguro card chip and PIN reader also supports installments, a popular payment form in Brazil. It allows buyers to pay for a product or service in up to 12 installments.

To ensure a safe buying process, no information is stored on the reader and all data is encrypted before being transmitted. When the transaction is successfully completed, a receipt may be e-mailed to the buyer. To purchase the card chip and PIN reader, the merchant must sign up on the PagSeguro website or the PagSeguro mobile app available from Google Play. The app supports Android version 2.2 and later (iOS version to be released soon) and connects to the reader using Bluetooth.
