MUMBAI, INDIA:
Will Padmasree Warrior, former CTO, Cisco Systems, be the new CEO at Twitter?
Well, if the grapevine is to be believed Warrior is pegged to be one of the most likely among the candidates to be chosen for the top job.
According to a report in the Times of India, a leading internal candidate, according to people close to the board, is interim leader and co-founder Jack Dorsey—who is already CEO at a company on the verge of an initial public offering. Twitter’s search firm, Spencer Stuart, has also been reaching out to potential leaders, including Warrior and CBS Interactive’s Jim Lanzone.
Meanwhile, Twitter’s board meets on Thursday and plans to discuss the results from the search so far.
“Investors are getting impatient for directors to make a decision, or at least give a detailed update on the process. The company, its employees and certainly its shareholders are in a little bit of limbo. That qualifies it as an urgent matter of business,” said Colin Sebastian, Analyst, Robert W Baird & Co.
CIOL believes that Warrior has led some path-breaking projects at Cisco, and considering Twitter’s dwindling fate at the stock market, she can be an apt choice.
Do you think she is the apt CEO for Twitter?
