Ozonetel banks on SMEs to grow revenues

MUMBAI, INDIA: Ozonetel Systems, a cloud-based business communication solutions provider, is gearing up to serve large number of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across India to drive its growth and revenues.

According to Murthy Chintalapati, Ozonetel'sfounder and chief operating officer, there are over 50 million SMEs in India, and communication plays a vital part of their business operations.

“Most of them cannot afford to buy communication equipment and systems due to huge cost, and their business needs varies from one business to another. However, the cloud telephony-based communication solutions can fulfill their needs at affordable prices,” Chinatalapati said.

Started in 2007, the Hyderabad-based Ozonetel has developed and built its own cloud telephony platform and communication solutions, including hardware support for the Indian market. KooKoo, CPBX and CloudAgent are some of the solutions, which are targeted largely for small businesses and their unique business requirements.

For instance, KooKoo platform allows businesses to use any web technologies to build automated voice applications across inbound, outbound phone and SMS. It helps developers and businesses to build its own applications with voice and IVR capabilities in a simple and easy way.

While, CloudAgent is a call center on cloud which offers businesses on-demand simplified contact center services for comprehensive call response along with integration with KooKoo and CRM solution to deliver self-service to customers and enhance their experience. Overall, these solutions reduce operational as well as capital expense for business.

“We anticipate more customers for CPBX and CloudAgent. Today, India has around 700-750 million mobile users and businesses want to reach out to potential customers over mobile. PBX is essential for all the every business and CloudAgent full fill the need of call-center and tele-marketing agents in the domestic market,” Chinatalapati points out.

Though, these solutions were launched last year, the company already has around 100 customers including mChek, IFB, Zipdial, Mahindra Finance, Quikr, SnapDeal, Indiatimes and others. With such an encouraging and positive response from the market, Chinatalapti wants to strengthen the company's business and outreach.

“We are in talks with venture capitalists as well as angel investors and trying to raise around $4-$5 million. We need money so that we can develop our infrastructure with increase in research capabilities and sales support. Currently, we have eight data centers in the metros but our goal is to cover 22 circles by the end of this year,” Chinatalapati informs.

“Our vision is to enable SMEs to expand their business on pan India basis without much of capex investments and our solutions will help them to focus on their business. We are looking for revenues of Rs 15 crore by the end of next year,” Chinatalapati concluded.
