Over 1,000 federal data centres to be closed by 2015

BANGALORE, INDIA: The US Federal agencies are planning to close about 1,200 data centres in the next five years, by the end of 2015, while an an interagency group will work on optimizing the remaining ones, says a report on Washington Business Journal.

"Federal agencies said they plan to shut down 215 data centres by the end of this year and 525 by the end of 2012", the report adds.
