Sitting behind the bars, the writer is tweeting and tweeting (http://twitter.com/AVARY). In a series of 140-character takes, Avary has built up a vivid portrait of life in Ventura county jail where he is currently being held, says a Guardian report.

“Sickness spreads throughout the facility like brush fires," he wrote in a recent tweet. The prisoner with 34 as his identification number in prison says “#34 is helpless to avoid the outbreak and inevitable infection."

“Night falls, and the only real activity is an endless recounting of the terrible and pointless events that brought us all to this sad place,” says another tweet. “The building is an imposing example of the Brutalist architectural movement. The windows are designed so as to not let too much light in,” adds another.

And once in a while there are some romantic tweets too. “Her exquisite beauty is magnified by a SCAR that took her eye, which she covers with a black patch,” reads one.

Roger Avary was sentenced in September to a year in jail and five years probation after he pleaded guilty to manslaughter for his role in a fatal crash in January.

However, the puzzle is how Avary is managing to update his Twitter feed from jail, where there is no computer access.
