Orissa woos BPO companies

BANGALORE: Orissa government is seriously pushing for the BPO pie by establishing a BPO complex Fortune Tower-at Bhubaneshwar exclusively dedicated for IT and ITeS companies. The campus is raised on a 9-acre campus spread over a 3.53 lakh sq.feet of space across 8 floors. Currently Reliance Infocomm has set up an office at the first floor of the complex along with ICFAI.

"The campus is built at a cost of 45 crores. It has 24 well laid out modular workspace of around 12,000-sq.ft super area which are designed to accommodate IT/ ITES units, quality technical management and educational institutes/research centres", said S.K.Das, General Manager, Orissa Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO).

"The IT initiatives of the state are at a primary stage and as a first step, we are coming with 'Infocity' a software technology park at Bhubaneshwar, spread over 254 acre campus and already software major Infosys is operating out of a 50 acres campus and are extending to another 50 acres", he said.

Besides, Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) is also moving to their office to the another complex 'Tower 2000' in the same campus, he revealed.
