New Update

BOSTON: Oracle on Sunday released an emergency update to its Java software for spurfing the web.

However, security experts say it not enough and suspect that the updates may fail to protect PCs from attack by hackers intent on committing cybercrimes.

Concerns about the Java's browser plug-in were raised after a new Java zero-day being exploited in the wild has been found.

The exploit were reported to be bypassing certain security checks tricking the permissions of certain Java classes.

The software maker released the update just days after the US Department of Homeland Security urged PC users to disable the programme because of bugs in the software that were being exploited to commit identity theft and other crimes.
