Oracle woos educational institutions

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Oracle has announced that over 24 colleges and universities worldwide recently purchased, implemented or upgraded Oracle Applications and infrastructure software to increase operational efficiency and better serve students, faculty, staff and alumni.

Among the prominent ones, Salisbury University, a part of the University System of Maryland, recently upgraded to Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solutions 9.0.

It also upgraded to PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Capital Management 9.0 and PeopleSoft Enterprise Financial Management 8.9 to further simplify processes for faculty and staff.

Florida State University recently implemented Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition, a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware, to further leverage data stored in its PeopleSoft Enterprise Financial Management, PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Capital Management and PeopleSoft Enterprise Grants Management applications.

The university also plans to implement PeopleSoft Enterprise ePerformance to better manage employee development and growth, as well as PeopleSoft Enterprise Asset Lifecycle Management to manage assets, repairs, maintenance and support across the university.

In September 2007, Metropolitan Community Colleges of Kansas City (Metro-KC) upgraded to PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Capital Management 8.9 and PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solutions 8.9 to deliver improved self-service capabilities to students, faculty and staff.
