Oracle to support India-specific features of JD Edwards appln

NEW DELHI: Oracle India Private Ltd (Oracle India) has announced that it has taken over the provision of customer support for and development of the India-specific features in its JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications.

Oracle said in a statement that this is an extension of the support that Oracle currently provides for the standard versions of JD Edwards Applications.

This move reflects Oracle's increased focused on the JD Edwards customer base in India. It reiterates Oracle's continued commitment to provide extended value to its Indian customers and to protect their software investments.

"With effect from August 1, 2006, we have taken over the support and development of the India-specific features in Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications," said Krishan Dhawan, managing director, Oracle India.

"We have been using Oracle's JD Edwards Applications since 2003. With Oracle's support extending to the India-specific features of JD Edwards Applications we can continue using the software to manage our extremely critical manufacturing processes. We are confident that this will ensure faster and more effective customization for India and we welcome this move," said R Ramakrishanan, executive president & COO, Bajaj Electricals Ltd.

Before this, the India-specific features of JD Edwards Applications were supported by an Oracle Certified Advantage Partner, Mumbai-based SYSTIME Computer Systems India Limited. SYSTIME continues to focus on sales and implementation of JD Edwards Applications in the Indian market.

Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is a complete suite of modular, pre-integrated industry-specific business applications designed for rapid deployment and ease of administration.

It is ideally suited for organizations that manufacture, construct, distribute, service, or manage products or physical assets. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne allows customers to

choose to leverage the tools, database and middleware from Oracle or continue with current investments from partner vendors.
