Oracle president Mark Hurd said that Taleo's employee recruitment, training and management tools would merge with Fusion, not run separate from Oracle's existing products, according to media reports.

Customers can purchase the bundle of more than one dozen features of the combined HR systems, or pick and choose the functions they want, Wall Street Journal states.

Combining Taleo and Oracle will allow the companies to invest more in R&D on the sector than Taleo could invest on its own, Hurd said. Oracle will continue to support the service on non-Oracle hardware systems for the 5000 customers that currently use Taleo.

"Our customers have been asking us to expand and become more end-to-end," says Mike Gregoire, CE of Taleo.
