CHENNAI: Oracle launched the Oracle Database 10g Release 2 in Asia Pacific today, aimed at continuing its strong performance on the database business in the region.
The company said in a press release that the new product release will provide customers an advantage in terms of enhanced availability, manageability, performance and security features to achieve a higher quality of service. It will also help customers cut the cost and complexity of information management.
Oracle said the release of Database 10g Release 2 will boost its position in the database market.
“Oracle Database 10g Release 2 will cement our leadership position in the database market,” said Nick Evered, senior vice president, Technology Sales for Oracle Asia Pacific.
Oracle Database 10g Release 2 delivers increased grid computing capabilities resulting in unprecedented performance, higher application availability and unparallel ease of management.
“This solution now enables customers to turn a group of industry standard server systems into a scaleable and fault-tolerant computing platform. Other benefits that come with this new release is that it makes it easier for customers to share storage resources in a grid environment as well the embedding of a significantly higher level of data security,” Oracle said in a press release.
