NEW DELHI: Moving forward with its continued focus towards designing and developing e-governance applications - Oracle India Pvt Ltd (Oracle) is planning to have a citizen data hub (CDH). According to the company, this initiative would help facilitate the connection of existing IT systems for all Indian states with the help of a common platform.

This networked hub will act as the central repository storage system for all data on e-governance initiatives undertaken by the state governments. Oracle is in the final stages of development for this hub and the proper implementation is likely to happen within the next three months.

"We have a product called Oracle data hub and now we are in the process of designing it according to the needs of different governments in the form of a citizen data hub. We would be providing it for implementation with different governments in about three months time," informed Oracle India MD, Shekhar Dasgupta.

Once operational, this CDH will house all citizen data from different government bodies like - the transport office, water boards, electricity boards, income tax department, police records, land records and public distribution system.

At present, Oracle India is involved with all the 28 state governments including those of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal, Punjab and Bihar in the implementation of e-governance related projects and initiatives in areas like - treasury management, commercial and income tax management. The company expects this particular initiative to further boost its e-government focus in India.
