NEW DELHI, INDIA: Oracle with its robust storage products portfolio believes that its unique data compression technology would help customers compress data up to 1/10 of the capacity.
The company also bets high on its newly introduced Sun ZFS Backup Appliance and Oracle StorageTek Tape Analytics.
The storage major said that it facilitates CIOs to accelerate app performance by 10x through its offering that incorporates both- hardware and software in a distinctive fashion. Key differentiators, the company said include: seamless integration, high performance, efficiency and end-to-end encryption.
Oracle JAPAC sales director Amit Malhotra while briefing the media today in New Delhi said that compression algorithms embedded at database layer help customers manage data in efficient manner. “Oracle has best archival storage portfolio in the market today,” he added.
Malhotra informed that customers can leaverage third-party hardware, however, also believes that performance is optimally delivered over Oracle’s comprehensive solution. The database giant is currently focusing on BFSI and telecom sectors.
“Our business-ready storage systems integrate innovative hardware architectures, automated storage tiering and simplified storage management software into an intelligent infrastructure to enable our customers tackle data deluge,” he said.
Sun ZFS Backup Appliance is available in two configurations. “It’s is simple, flexible, feature-rich and facilitate end-to-end data integrity,” Malhotra added. The other release, Oracle StorageTek tape Analytics software proactively manages the entire data.
Oracle Database enjoys more than 60 per cent market share in India while it has close to 50 per cent market penetration worldwide.
