As part of its magic quadrant for enterprise application servers 2Q06 report, Gartner notes that the application server market is evolving to address changes in business application architectures. The report cites Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), open source software, event-driven architecture (EDA) and high-end extreme transaction processing as key market drivers.
