Oracle adds Indian spice to its HRMS

BANGALORE: Oracle India has launched its HR solution 'Oracle HRMS' with India specific HR features aimed to help customers adapt and embrace global knowledge economy.

Joel Summers, Senior Vice President, HRMS Development, Oracle Corporation, said, " The emergence of India as a knowledge economy has created unique HR challenges for Indian companies, especially in the area of management of local human capital addressing global needs. Realizing this need, we have embraced the requirements of the new Indian global enterprise and have incorporated the same in our Oracle HRMS solution."

As part of the Oracle E-business suite, Oracle HRMS helps companies manage all aspects of the workforce, including payroll and expense management, recruiting and hiring, benefits of administration, training, and performance management. However, the India specific features is included only in the payroll management module as this module features are very country specific.

Said Shekhar Dasgupta, Managing Director, Oracle India, "Oracle HRMS gives Indian customers the ability to transform workforce-related data into meaningful information and help decision makers gain immediate access to real-time, complete operational data. Our customers in India will have the flexibility to accommodate variations in business practice, data gathering and reporting while managing a global workforce."

The ERP major works closely with its partners, system integrators and independent software vendors to help the deployment and usage of Oracle technology and applications across customer sites in India.

Currently it has 200 customers for its Oracle E-business suite and over 40 customers for its HRMS solution including some of the leading public sector units like Indian Railways and private sector companies like HDFC, IDBI and many others. The company plans to offer its existing users with the upgraded version of the HRMS solution. No pricing details were announced.
