"Together, Oracle and Palerra will help accelerate cloud adoption securely by providing comprehensive identity and security cloud services," Rohit Gupta, co-founder of Palerra, wrote in a blog post.

Palerra was founded in 2013 (originally called Apprity) and offers a Cloud Access Security Broker product called Loric that provides a combination of visibility into cloud usage, data security, user behavior analytics, and security configuration.

In the current scenario, where companies are confronted with ever increasing cyber attacks, Palerra’s feature set is in demand: it covers breach discovery, compliance, insider threat detection and incident response.

"The combination of Oracle Identity Cloud Service (IDaaS) and Palerra's CASB solution plan to deliver comprehensive protection for users, applications and APIs, data, and infrastructure to secure customer adoption of cloud," Oracle wrote on the acquisition.

The Redwood Shores, California company said it is currently reviewing Palerra’s product roadmap and will be providing guidance to customers at a later date. Oracle promised Palerra customers better integration and alignment with the software giant’s other product offerings.

Oracle has been focusing on cloud computing companies to boost up its horizontal offerings as well as to focus on certain vertical industries such as utilities and the construction industry. In July, it acquired NetSuite, a provider of cloud-based applications. Then, earlier this month, it said it would acquire LogFire, a provider of cloud-based warehouse management applications in Atlanta, Georgia, to improve the features of its supply chain management cloud offering.
