Opnet's software for end-user experience monitoring and real-time network analytics will run on the RSP in Riverbed Steelhead appliances. By running ACE Live on RSP, organisations can achieve enhanced application performance management in WAN-optimised environments, with no additional equipment at the branch office, enabling greater ROI on their capital investment.

The RSP is an enterprise-class platform that enables a drastic reduction in the branch office IT footprint by running up to five remote office third-party software modules--without the need for separate dedicated servers.

Opnet’s ACE Live provides monitoring, measurement, and detection of application performance violations. It supports complete visibility and reporting of all transactions and users, with detailed real-time and historical information about end-user response times, utilisation, route quality, and ISP performance.

ACE Live on RSP allows organisations to make the most of their accelerated WAN environment by monitoring application response time to ensure end user performance meets business requirements. RSP customers will be able to continuously monitor end-to-end application performance over the WAN, automatically baseline performance and receive alarms when thresholds are violated, and quantify the bandwidth reduction realised from Steelhead appliance deployments.

Alain Cohen, president and CTO, Opnet, said: “Through our partnership with Riverbed, we are able to deliver a completely unique offering with the ACE Live on RSP, enabling the only single-box solution for application acceleration and performance management.”
