Opera unveils new desktop browser in India

OSLO, NORWAY: Opera Software, a provider in networked devices, today announced the launch of its latest desktop browser, Opera 9.6, tailored to focus on the Indian market.

It features an act of writing e-mails in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu with its built-in e-mail Client, Opera Mail, said a press release.

"India has definitely shown Opera the love with their devotion to Opera Mini. We are giving the love back today by ensuring that Indians from New Delhi to Tamil Nadu can use Opera in their own languages. This support also extends to our e-mail client, Opera Mail," said, Jon von Tetzchner, chief executive officer, Opera Software.

It allows web surfers to synchronize bookmarks between multiple computers and mobile phone using Opera Link and Opera Mini, a browser for mobile phones, the release added.
