Openbravo releases Openbravo POS 2.20

SPAIN: Openbravo, the leading developer of web-based open source Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Point of Sale (PoS) solutions for enterprises, has released version 2.20 of its open source Point of Sale (PoS) software, an application for retailers that works with touch screens, barcode scanners, and ticket printers.

Available from http://sourceforge.net/projects/openbravopos, Openbravo POS 2.20 includes a range of new features and functions to benefit retailers and their customers. These include modifications to the handling and reporting of taxes that match the functionality present in Openbravo’s award-winning ERP package, and improvements to the customer modules, including new fields to allow retailers to capture more details on their customers and to print detailed invoices.

As well as running in one-off single POS deployments, Openbravo POS 2.20 is integrated to run as a single combined offering with Openbravo ERP. This integration allows retailers and franchises to have an integrated system to centrally control all point of sale and logistical activities across multiple sites.

To ensure that its users continue to have a simple ‘download-and-install it’ experience, Openbravo has also updated its installer packages in version 2.20 with new additions for major operating systems. Openbravo POS now comes with installers for Microsoft Windows, the Ubuntu Linux-based operating system, and Novell’s SUSE Linux.

Openbravo POS 2.20 also brings updates to the latest versions of third-party report engines such as JasperReports and supporting libraries such as Barcode4J, a software application that generates barcodes in the Java programming language.

The new version, supported by an enthusiastic global community, is now available in ten language versions including Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese, Dutch, English, French, Galician, German, Italian, Polish, Russian, Spanish, and Thai.
