Online processing of car claims for the first time in India

NEW DELHI: Car owners can get their insurance claim settled within hours with the introduction of computerized online processing in India for the first time.

Audatex, a division the automatic Data Processing (ADB) group of US, has introduced the online solution offering measurable benefits to all parties in a claim. The processing starts when the garage prepares the estimate adding pictures of the damaged car and sends it to the insurance surveyor online with the help of the software installed with them and receive the survey report online.

The insurer benefits from a transparent process that consistently produces standardized estimates and the repairer benefits from faster turnaround and less paper work. The entire process in completed within couple of hours.

" It saves a lot of time and the trouble of manual survey benefiting both the insurance party and the car owner will have faster claim settlement. Finally all get the benefits of detailed management information and statistics," said Pankaj Kapoor, Chief Executive Officer Audatex India at the launch of the new solution.

Bajaj Allianz and Tata AIG have already signed up for this solution in partnership with Audatex. The company is also having discussions with other key insurance companies such as New India Assurance, Oriental Insurance, National Insurance and Royal Sundaram.

Managing director Audatex UK (Asia pacific) Paul Tucker said that India is the most exciting auto markets where the sales are increasing up to 15 per cent every year. "I believe the solution will benefit the car owners to a great extent. We are committed to bringing our worldwide expertise to our Indian customers and assist their endeavor for better customer satisfaction and profitability," Tucker added. Kapoor said that they are also planning to introduce this software for the two- wheelers within a couple of months.

Audatex has claimed to have signed up with Daimler Chrysler India for implementation of the processing software at all their dealerships. Currently two Mercedes dealers, T&T Motors Delhi and Auto Hanger, Mumbai are using the software commercially. The claim processing software has also been installed at 12 Maruti dealer locations in Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad.
