Olive Telecom forays into Nepal

KATHMANDU: Olive Telecom, today announced the launch of its brand ‘Olive Convergence’ in Kathmandu.

The brand has been envisioned to provide simple solutions to the everyday requirements in the world of connectivity at delightfully affordable prices, said a press release.

The OlivePad with the Android 2.2 (the latest version) is a 3.5G wi-fi enabled Tablet. It gives you computer functions, mobile and Smart phone functions and comes loaded with Zenga TV application allowing users to surf their favourite channels.

Showcasing its strength in leveraging the 3G technology for simpler, on-the-move broadband connectivity solutions, the company began in India by launching the first ever range of Zipbooks (3G Embedded Netbooks), as part of its Olive Convergence brand portfolio, a truly anytime - anywhere mobile broadband solution.

He added that Olive Convergence is an idea that is powered by an aspiration of providing our customers with products that are not only on the threshold of new technology innovations but also aim at creating new benchmarks in affordability of mobile computing and communication products.

The company also launched cutting edge mobile phones. These include touch screen phones viz., OliveTouch; OliveBuzz — the QWERTY keypad phone; 2 dual sim/dual standby phones viz., OliveHarmony, OliveBigg, OliveFrvrOn (India’s 1st Hybrid Phone) and OliveWiz (India’s 1st Triple SIM Qwerty device).

The company also showcased its innovative, futuristic and cutting-edge convergent devices. Soon more devices like the OliveNexus Pocket Router, that is technology agnostic and can work with Modems or ADSL in 3G, EVDO etc., will be brought here.

The new Olive Convergence portfolio is replete with WCDMA, CDMA, GSM and EV-DO handsets and smart-phones, Mobile Computing Devices and Advanced data modems for wireless broadband, the release added.
