Olacabs makes booking app available for Windows phone user

BANGALORE, INDIA: Olacabs announced the launch of its Windows application, which allows users to book a cab with one touch on their Windows phones. The Windows app launch follows the success of Ola's Android and iPhone apps, first of their kind in India, that have changed the way customers book their cabs today.

The windows phone market is expected to triple to 121.8 million by 2018 globally. Also, the adoption of Windows Phones in India is over 45 percent more than the global average making it an important part of the Indian smartphone growth story. As far as Olacabs app is concerned, over 40 percent bookings are already received through its app today making it the fastest growing and most important booking channel.

Ankit Bhati, co-founder and CTO, Olacabs said, "With the Windows Phone app, we are now present on all three major platforms allowing us to deliver a consistent experience for every customer. This app will now allow lakhs of Windows Phone users, access to our services at their fingertips."

The app provides users instantaneous confirmation of booking along with necessary details like the name of the cab driver and vehicle number, distance from the user's location as well as expected time taken to reach the location. The app also tracks and shows the real time movement of the cab to the customer on a map.

Ola's technology platform also provides a boost to the business for cab drivers as they are able to get customers faster through efficient management of taxi time due to technologies like GPS, constant traffic alerts and real-time demand estimation. Incidentally, operations inside the car are managed through an android phone that acts as an in-car navigation device and fare meter.
