Obopay announces new president for Asia, Africa

MUMBAI: Obopay Inc, a service provider for payments via mobile phones, today announced that Deepak Chandnani has joined as the president for Obopay's Asia and Africa Operations, considered key geographies for the US based organization.

Prior to joining Obopay, Chandnani served as the CEO for Wire and Wireless India Ltd, a Zee Group Company.

Chandnani brings with him more than 28 years of top managerial experience focused on consumer, banking and technology sectors by virtue of having held multiple strategic and leadership roles in leading blue chip organizations like Citibank, Hindustan Lever, Yahoo and NCR Corporation, said a press release.

He was the first country manager for Yahoo and later the managing director at NCR Corporation, India.

An Economics honors graduate from St Stephens College, Delhi, Chandnani holds an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad.
