Indian-American Vivek Kundra was the CTO of Washington, D.C. till recently. The FBI team had arrested an Indian-American businessman and a Washington DC government official on corruption charges following the raid.

The arrested are Yusuf Acar, a contracting officer for Washington’s city government, and Sushil Bansal, a former city employee.

In 2007, officials had discovered a $50 million embezzlement scandal in the D.C. Office of Tax and Revenue.

The raid comes barely a week after the White House named Kundra as the CIO of the new administration. Though Kundra has not been named in the case, a White House official said he was on leave "until further details become known" about the investigation.

Kundra is not named in court documents released in the investigation and he is not the target of the investigation, said officials.

Do you think this as a setback to President Obama who wants to wage a war against corruption? Or is it that the new administration is suffering due to the wrongdoings of the previous one?
