CALIFORNIA: The GreenChip TEA1713 is the first resonant controller in the industry with integrated power factor correction (PFC), capacitive mode protection and adaptive dead-time control.
According to a statement from NXP Semiconductors, the high-performance GreenChip TEA1713 is a cost-effective solution, which allows designers to build highly reliable and highly efficient resonant power supplies.
Typical applications of GreenChip TEA1713 include power supplies above 90 W for LCD TVs, plasma TVs, personal computers, high-quality industrial and medical power supplies, as well as slim-line adapters.
Edwin Kluter, marketing director (power solutions business line) of NXP Semiconductors, explained in the statement that GreenChip TEA1713 resonant half-bridge converter complies with ENERGY STAR requirements – delivering 90+ p.c efficiency, with only 50 p.c of the power loss of a typical flyback converter for higher power applications.
The GreenChip TEA1713 is an integrated resonant controller and power-factor controller for universal mains supply operation (70 V to 276 VAC). Its features include adaptive dead-time control, 2-level over-current protection with boost voltage compensation, capacitive mode protection, high-frequency protection (time-out), over-current regulation with AC sensing, 2-speed soft-start mechanism, and burst mode standby.
