BANGALORE: NVIDIA Corporation, a firm dealing in programmable graphics processor technologies, has announced the NVIDIA Quadro Plex 1000.
The company said in a statement that the Quadro Plex 1000 is the world’s first dedicated visual computing system (VCS) delivering a quantum leap in visual computing.
It is now shipping the product in volume and available directly from authorized partners.
The NVIDIA Quadro Plex VCS, available in three models, is designed to interface with standard workstations and servers to deliver advanced scalability for demanding professional applications, including those powering multiple streams of 4K high-definition video, digital content creation and visual effects, 3D styling and design, scientific and medical visualisation, oil and gas exploration, or visual simulation and training.
“Since the launch of the NVIDIA Quadro Plex VCS at SIGGRAPH 2006, demand for the product has far exceeded our expectations,” said Dan Vivoli, senior vice president (Marketing). “This innovative new visual computing system is redefining and streamlining the way companies create, deliver and view complex data sets and visual content.”
The NVIDIA Quadro Plex VCS is available in a desktop or 3U rackmount configuration and it utilizes NVIDIA SLI multi-GPU technology.
The NVIDIA Quadro Plex VCS 1000 is compatible with an officially certified set of x86 32- and 64-bit Intel and AMD processors running Windows and Linux operating systems, the statement added.
