NTT Data closes acquisition of Dell Services; aims to be among top 5 IT services leaders

Japanese IT services company, NTT Data has closed it its $3.1 billion acquisition of Dell Services.

“The acquisition of Dell Services is another step toward achieving our vision of becoming a top five global IT services leader,” said Toshio Iwamoto, president and CEO of NTT Data Corporation.

The newly acquired business, which on an interim basis will be called NTT Data Services. John McCain, CEO of NTT Data will have overall responsibility for leading the business.

NTT Data is a top 10 global business and IT services provider with 100,000+ professionals in more than 50 countries, and is part of NTT Group.

The acquisition was significant as they share complementary portfolios. The combined company represents one of the industry’s most comprehensive services portfolios designed to modernize business and technology.

This will lead to an increased strength in industry consulting and vertical solutions in major segments, including healthcare and life sciences, financial services and insurance, public sector, manufacturing and commercial industries.

-Expanded, full lifecycle services in applications and infrastructure

-Together with NTT Group, one of the world’s largest data center footprints with more than 240 data centers globally
