NTT DATA bags ERP support deal from Daimler

BANGALORE, INDIA: NTT DATA announced a multi-year deal with Daimler for global ERP support services.

As per the agreement, NTT DATA will work closely with the Shared Services Centres of Daimler, in Mercedes-Benz Research and Development, India (MBRDI) Bangalore, and Mercedes-Benz Türk, Istanbul, to provide application support service for ERP templates. The team will cover all template-based applications including Operations, BASIS and Development services.

The Shared Services Centres have been recently created to increase the support to ensure growing global IT requirements are met. They are tasked with handling 75 per cent of all ERP-related support requests and bringing in external expertise, such as NTT DATA, to help them deliver this.

Naoshi Yoshida, Head - Global Automotive and Enterprise Sales, NTT DATA Corporation, Tokyo, Japan, said, “With this contract, we will be able to further scale up and accelerate our presence in the APAC markets, strengthen our client base in India, enhance our expertise and business knowledge of auto-makers and other manufacturing industries. The term of the deal will cover all template-based applications including operations, basis and development services.”

Sanjeev Welling, VP, India Business, NTT DATA Global Delivery Services Limited, India, said, “As this large-sized project will have India as a major hub, it would help us expand on our Indian footprint adding to numerous job opportunities and bringing in technological advancements within the country.”
