NSE.IT enters into alliance with Computer Associates

BANGALORE: NSE.IT, the wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), has entered into an alliance with the US-based Computer Associates (CA) to "supplement and leverage each other's strengths and skills, to explore significant business available in India and abroad''. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CA was signed between NSE managing director Dr R. H. Patil, and CA president and COO Sanjay Kumar.

NSE is in the process of deploying CA technology in its own organizations for having centralized control and monitoring of all its critical functions and applications running on desktops and servers totaling to around 1000 nodes. The solutions will also help in control of inventory management, remote trouble shooting, automated back-up, disaster management and anti-virus protection through a centralised administration, NSE said. Given NSEs expertise in the infotech ambit, CA is also looking to market some of the IT solutions developed by NSE.IT in the global ambit later.



Dr Patil also said that the domain knowledge clubbed with the expertise of NSE.IT and the latest technology of CA, would provide tremendous opportunities to the proposed joint venture. NSE.IT will be the solutions provider for offering various IT services to the securities and financial services sector using CA technology such as Jasmine for Web-based applications, UNIcenter TNG for management of enterprise-wide IT infrastructure. "The centralised control will increase the efficacy of the entire system apart from saving time,'' Dr Patil said.
