As of now, Imangi Studio, the developer of the popular mobile game, is offering a free, ad-supported version.

The game is all about a set of characters attempting to steal gold coins, crossing obstacles and hoodwinking some evil monkeys. "Test your reflexes as you race down ancient temple walls and along sheer cliffs. Swipe to turn, jump and slide to avoid obstacles, collect coins and buy power ups, unlock new characters, and see how far you can run," is the game's description.

Temple Run first debuted for Apple devices last August with paid and ad-supported versions and has since been downloaded more than 40 million times, making it the seventh most-popular game in the App Store, said a PCMag report.

In Google Play, Temple Run is fourth on the list of Top New Free games. It already has an average rating of 4.3 out of 5, generated by 20,138 user reviews.

The next in the line is the photo-sharing app, Instagram, on Android, though an official launch date is yet to be announced.
