The portal is largely targeted at general users like corporate executives, government employees, housewives, students, retired people and individuals.

“Today there are innumerable finance, account management solutions and systems available in the market. However, these solutions and systems don't easily fit as per an individual's needs in a country like India as there are demographic and linguistic differences,” says Arpit Thakar, SNK Taj Solutions' managing director.

“Muneem.com is mainly designed keeping in view the Indian users and their need for easy management of income and expense records on day-to-day basis,” adds Thakar.

Muneem.com is built on Microsoft platform, hosted on an ISO 27001 certified data center in Mumbai. It helps in tracking of expenses, budgeting, planning of domestic cash flows, analyze trend of expenses and exhibits in form of online reports and graphics.

It has an E-Locker facility, wherein the users can scan and store their important documents like passports, insurance policies, property documents, investment portfolios, birth certificates, driving license, education certificates and others. Once the documents are stored in the E-Locker, it can be accessed from anywhere using the Internet.

According to Thakar, even those people without computer, scanner or Internet can avail the E-Locker facility by sending SMS or visiting Scanzo centers. Scanzo is a brand of Muneem.com, which is offered to small retail stores and businesses on franchise model, wherein people can get their documents scanned at a nominal charge and then store it in the E-Locker. At present the Scanzo facility is available in Vadodara and Surat.

“After they get their documents scanned and stored in E-Locker, whenever they want to mail it to others, they can send a SMS with document details and email address to Muneem.com in a secured way.” explains Thakar.

Each of the services, finance management and E-Locker are available to users at an annual fee of Rs.500 with unlimited storage space.

Thakar, a technopreneur with educational background in commerce and computers has over 15 years work experience in the area of compliance and regulations for verticals like nuclear power, pharmaceutical, finance and insurance.

Sanjay N Kapadiaa, a chartered accountant by profession, is the promoter and chairman of Muneem.com. While the portal was under development for the past five years by a California-based software firm The Imaginations Incorporation, it was merged with Kapadiaa's SNK Taj Solutions Private Limited through a joint venture in early part of 2009.

Since the portal's launch in mid October this year, already 2500 users from Surat and Ahmedabad have registered here. “We are getting a lot of inquiry across India and expect around 50000 users by March 2011,” hopes Thakar.
