Now, Harry Potter in schools, libraries

BANGALORE, INDIA: J K Rowling may have just finished writing the last of the Harry Potter series, but the Potter glory continues to glow, may be eternally. Now, OverDrive, American digital distributor of e-books, is bringing the Potter series to e-readers on Amazon Kindle, Android, iOS, BlackBerry and Windows Phone.

The books will be made available to over 18,000 public and school libraries across the globe. Initially, the books will be available in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish.

To sign up to OverDrive’s app, one requires a free account from Adobe.

J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter is a once-a-lifetime phenomenon and has been an extremely significant catalyst for reading and literacy for current and future generations. We are honored to bring this beloved storytelling experience digitally to public and school libraries worldwide," OverDrive chief executive Steve Potash was quoted as saying by the Washington Post.

J.K. Rowling already has Pottermore - a website which builds an exciting online experience around the reading of successful Harry Potter books - in partnership with her worldwide publishers, Bloomsbury.
